Then we moved into his New Year setup, which was extra special since he’s a New Year’s baby. Behind him, I displayed over 100 black-and-white images from his first year, instantly bringing a wave of sentiment to the fun-filled set. Balloons, a noise maker, and his favorite sunglasses added playful energy, and Ryder absolutely loved it. He danced nonstop to his favorite song, “Dance Monkey,” taking a few cautious steps but mostly just letting loose, showing off his little moves, and soaking up all the excitement. Having these images surrounding him makes the session feel even more meaningful, a celebration of an entire year in one frame.

Seeing him surrounded by a year of memories, dancing and laughing, was so sweet. It reminded me how fast this year has gone and how special it is to capture these milestones in a way that is both joyful and meaningful. Moments like this, playful, messy, and full of love, are the ones I’ll treasure forever—and seeing them in print makes that feeling last even longer.
