Capturing the Coffey Family | Outdoor Family Session

Early June brought warm, slightly humid air, but it didn’t slow the Coffey boys one bit. Coleman and Spence ran through the field nonstop, filling their outdoor family session with laughter, motion, and pure kid energy. Every time I turned my camera their way, they were off exploring, chasing each other, or finding some new adventure just a few steps ahead. 

Pruitt and Dylan were right in the mix, playing alongside the boys and letting their wildness guide the flow of the session. There was so much laughter, so many spontaneous moments, and it all felt effortless. This is exactly the kind of family photography I love, where the pictures feel real, full of connection, and completely true to who a family is in that moment. The small, joyful details from the day become the kind of memories they’ll be glad to revisit in print, long after the sun sets.

Of course, there was a little lesson learned when the boys ran through the tall grasses and got super itchy, but even that became part of the story, a reminder of how alive and adventurous these sessions can be. Between the running, the teasing, and the giggles, the session felt like a perfect snapshot of childhood. Seeing these moments captured is one thing, but having them in print is the way they stick with you, letting you relive the laughter every time you glance at a wall or photo album.
